What do I need to hook up my Acer laptop to my Vizio LCD TV?
I have an Acer Aspire 7720-6155 laptop and I would like to play a DVD and watch it on my Vizio 42" LCD TV. What do I need to be able to do this?

Some models of that laptop have just VGA, some models have SVIDEO and DVI connectors as well. Your best bet is to take your laptop to BestBuy or your local Electronic store maybe RadioShack even. Show them what you have, tell them what you are doing, and then you can be helped in person. Because without SEEING your laptop to see what the manufacturer actually added to that particular run on build we can't help you 100%. Besides, it is just a much safer bet. You would otherwise have to risk gas money running back and forth buying stuff and testing it and possibly returning it which is a pain. You just need a cable, so... It will be VGA to RGB, DVI to HDMI, or SVIDEO male to male.

Your computer has s-video and VGA ports. your tv should have one or both of these. google "VGA port" and "S-Video port" so you can identify these on your tv, then purchase one of these cables
