i was wondering if the acer 5920 gemstone is fast? i dont want any other suggestios but would love the pros and cons on this laptop thanks.

I don't recommend this laptop because it freeze sometimes although it's cheap. I would buy Toshiba or hp laptop instead, the price is not very different from the Acer.

I would not recomend this laptop it is cheap, but it freezes often and they don't last long, you should go with a Dell, Hp Toshiba or Sony

Two thumbs down! Hope you don't already have it. I have several Dell's (never had a problem with any of them), an HP (also never a problem with it, and it is OLD), a new 'eee pc' and a custom built (it is haunted). Go with a reputable company . . . but remember any companies computers can be bad, or you can get a good one. Once again--go with the odds, pick a reputable name.

Cheap but pathetic. Go for a HP or Dell, these days they are quite affordable. Dell has great configurations and cheaper than corresponding HP ones.

Acer Laptop a last Christmas

Acer Laptop?
I bought a acer laptop a last christmas. My uncle opened it and I noticed the bottom of the laptop was open. Well he didn't say anything about it but when we got it, it was so slow that it would freeze for hours. We'd have to take the battery out to turn it off. Then the little metal stick that goes into the charger broke off and wouldn't connect. We replaced it and it broke again. Now my battery is charging but won't go past 2%. What do I do.

sounds like a basket case ... maybe the battery is bad ...

Acer laptops have a 1 year warranty, bring it to a Best Buy , they are an Acer authorized repair depot, and they will fix it for free as long as you have the recite proving the purchase date.

Acer laptop Apsire 3680

Acer laptop?
I just bought an Acer laptop Apsire 3680 and i'm kind of new to using a laptop so i'm sure how everything works yet. I plugged it in and let the battery charge fully but even when fully charged it only lasts about 1 hr and 30 minutes. Shouldn't it be longer than that?? also even when it is shut down it seems to drain the battery. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot!

No that's about right, make sure when you "shut down" you're going to start > Shutdown and not just closing the lid. When you close the lid it will go into standby which still uses the battery

Hey i just got one 2! and yea 1 1/2 is all i get on mine. They say its suppose to get 2 1/2 but with all the vista features and extra software that come with vista and acer it will drain alot of battery i would try to unistall some of the programs on your computer that you do not need at all, and if you only use your computer for email and istant messaging then i would put it on power saver ow the computer will be slow but i got it to last for 2 hours once
