How do I reformat my Acer laptop?

How do I reformat my Acer laptop?
I have an Acer Aspire 3620 laptop. I'm not much of a tech person, so I need step by step instructions.I've already backed up everything I want to back up and I have the backup disks I made when I first got the laptop. A friend reformatted it for me once before, so the disks have been used once, so if I have to make new ones, could you also explain how to do that too?

Hi S Acer has a backup on the D partition of your Laptop. What you need to do is reboot and hit the F11 key... It will bring you automatically to the build in recovery partition and it will re-install the factory default without the use of your CD. Once installed, you can re-install your software after.

is it possible to change charger jack for my acer laptop?
the little pin inside the charger jack for my laptop got loose somehow so now when i plug in the charger it won't charge at all. i have another acer laptop but the screen is broken but it has the same charger jack and same charger. is it possible to pull out the working jack and install it and replace my broken jack? please answer, my laptop is my only working computer.

It can be done but it's very, very difficult. I would take it to a shop and have them look at it. It's not something I would do at home.

The A/C charger port pin is soldered onto the mother board and can be re soldered. It usually cost about $100.00 to have it repaired at a computer center.

Not a job for the do at home project, the new jacks are real inexpensive. I would not try ans salvage an old one

If the only thing wrong with the 2nd pc is the screen, it would probably be much easier to put the good screen on it and use it instead (if it's as good a PC #1). Swapping a screen should be fairly easy. Changing a power jack harder and costlier.

Click Start and then Control Panel, Next, click on the Sounds and Audio Devices, By default it will open up on the Volume tab. You’ll notice the “Place volume icon in the taskbar” option is either checked or unchecked. If it’s already checked and the icon is not showing up, you need to uncheck the box, and then click Apply. Re-check the box and then click Apply again. Now your icon should appear in the taskbar. If it still disapears it may be set to hidden. Click Start, Properties, Taskbar, Customize, Volume and set to Always Show.

To check the connecting jack & cable carefully (may be the resolution is wrong setting cause it out of order .....for examp...1280X1024)(the fact that the Mon only have 800X600) so you should try another Mon to check It' s quite easy to solve this problem....ha! so you should try another Mon to compare with

It may not be booting up all the way. Have you tried plugging in an external monitor? I think your problem is more to do with the computer part of your laptop rather than the screen.

I had an Acer TravelMate 800 series laptop, but the screen broke so I purchased a new Fujitsu Lifebook A series laptop. Memory and Hard drives are the only sure bets. Any pcmcia card you had for the old one also. You might be able to salvage and sell the battery and battery charger on Ebay. You could also sell the DVD if it's removable.

i would take the ram, dvd drive and the battery out to to use for spares. you can also just hook up an external monitor to your old laptop, switch the display to the monitor, then under your power options switch : "When close lid" from "sleep" to "do nothing". now you have a very slimline, perfectly functional desktop pc. you could grab a little envision flatscreen monitor for like nothing these days.

It can be said that the two brands of notebooks, not too big or availability. The same is true of memory, and you can not be different models of normal use. I see you intended to sell a bad notebook, in exchange for money to buy new parts to upgrade. So some of the security. Do not hamper the new.

Touchpads can be hard to disable totally, at least in Windows, but there's probably a setting buried in the touchpad's control panel that says something like "disable while typing".
