Acer extensa 5635z laptop

how to format my acer laptop and to install windows xp?
I have an Acer extensa 5635z laptop that's getting a bit heavy and I want to re-format the C drive and start again 2 install windows XP but can't see how to.Anyone know how?

put in your xp CD and reboot your laptop and press the key it tells you to when it says boot from cd press ___ then just follow the on-screen instructions.

start ur pc> insert the windows cd> it will detect automatically( if doesnt den restart the pc)> act according to instructions> if asks 'wer to install' select the drive u want to format> if asks that install directly or format? select format> if asks 2 methods (1-fast 2-normal) select the normal, der u go. after completing installations, dont just directly start using ur pc, 1st install the drivers for ur pc. CD m8 be in any case came wid ur pc (if ur cpu is containing intel processor then it m8 be in the box of intel). Install all drivers successfully> now u can start using ur pc I also format my pc manually in case of any virus.

Turn of laptop , put in cd , follow instructions VOLA you have now formated your laptop =D

My acer laptop dvd rom does not pick any CD at all

My acer laptop dvd rom does not pick any CD at all. What should I do to make it work?
My acer laptop d rom has completly stoped working. It does not pick any Cd at all. What exactly should I do to make it work again. I have tried greasing the gears and even used lens cleaners but to no avail. Someone help me please.

How do I connect my acer laptop to a lg TV using a vga to HDMI?
I have an acer laptop and a lg lcd tv I also have bought a vga to hdmi cable but it wasn't long enough so i used a hdmi male to female but I can't get the image on the tv. (I connected my vga to my laptop and the other side of it (male hdmi) to the other wire ( female hdmi ) and the other side of that (male hdmi to the tv).

Did you try without the extension? If that works it's the extension. If not, right click anywhere on your desktop, select 'properties' and enable the second monitor. You might have to play with the settings a bit to get the best out of it.

You need to set the laptop to output digital over VGA. If it has no settings for that, the VGA to HDMI cable is of no use to you. Rather, you need to get a VGA to HDMI converter box, which will convert the analog only VGA, to the digital HDMI only is.
3 :
Try turning off the laptop and then hooking it up to the TV then power up the laptop. Your computers CMOS may not be able to deal with the sudden change.

How come when i turn on my acer laptop it keeps shutting off and turning on by itself?
i have a acer laptop whenever i turn it on then it shutts down by itself and it turns on by itself then it shuts down by itself...etc so how can i fix this problem without seeing or calling a person... please i need help with this ASAP thanks

i don't think that it is possible to fix that problem without seeing or calling a person. i really think that you should get it checked out because there could be a major malfunction.

had the same problem with my vaio...there was a virus which had corrupted my OS....i had to reinstall it....tat fixed it for me

Either a virus of something to do with the fan that makes the computer overheat. Try a search on google.com.

start your computer in safe mode with networking while tapping the F8 key while it is booting up...uninstall any anti virus program you have from the control panel..add/remove programs..now install the free home version of avast from www.avast.com....run a boot time scan which is part of the set up..this should fix you right up.....cheers

You might have a problem with your battery. If you are still able to boot to windows, go to start>control panel>performance and maintenance>power options and check your settings which might have caused your problem. If you are unable to boot, then you really need someone to look into your problem if you do not know anything about computer repairs.

attempt running in safe mode to see if issues persist. does the NB get abnormally hot before shutting down or ar you using it unventilated when it does? if if shuts down while is safe mode its a hardware problem possibly the heatsink module, youd be covered by the 1yr factory warranty if within that time period if it doesnt power off while is safe mode you may have virii. restore to factory default by ALT +F10 at the first Acer screen you see at start up to overwrite C: and delete any virii that may have corrupted the OS.

i just got a new acer laptop and when i use internet explorer the acer website always is on all the time when i start it. does anybody know how to remove that feature?

Open your web browser and go to the site you want to use as your homepage. Click "Tools" and then choose "Internet Options" from the menu. In the "Home page" field near the top of the window, click the "Use current" button. Now Internet Explorer will open at the page you chose instead of the Acer site.

That is the home page they set. I just got a Acer and had the same thing. Go to control panel Internet options. Where it says homepage it will have it listed or may have two listed erase anything in the box and add whatever you wish to use in the box. say for instance Yahoo you would put http://www.yahoo.com then click apply and OK you are all set

If its launching as your home page open IE and go to "tools> internet option> genreal tab and replace the http://acer.com address with a home page address of your choice such as http://www.yahoo.com or maybe a good golf site you like :) If it automatically launching when you turn you computer on go to your start button (or windowws pearl in vista) then go to programs (all programs) startup , then delete the acer button in the startup folder. done :)

That's because its your homepage. Just go to tools>internet options and change your homepage to whatever webpage you want it to be. If you want it to be blank, change it to about:blank

I have an Acer Laptop, I can not connect to wireless when plugged into the wall?
I have an acer 5050 laptop, I can not connect to the wireless internet when my computer is plugged into the wall. I can connect with just the battery though. It is very frustrating not to be able to connect when plugged in to the wall. It can not even find the wireless networks when plugged in. My husband is a computer tech and he can not figure it out... Can anyone help?

Uninstall all programs that use Wireless - like wireless manager and others crap Uninstall drivers from Device manager Reboot Visit Windows update and update windows. Reboot Download and Install fresh drivers for wireless. Try it Best Luck

How much would this hardware stuff coast for my Acer laptop?
I have an Acer 3620 laptop and i need a new battery, also i need to know how much it would coast to have the cooling fan in it replaced because it doesn't work any more, also it was knocked over before and the port where you plug the charger in got bent or broke where you have to pull it to the side and have something hold it there while it is plugged in for it to get connection to charge it now. How much separately would all of this coast to be fixed and purchased?

fans run up to not over 200 i believe i havent replaced mines yet and a battery runs between 50-150 depending what battery type u need and if the charge port is bent i dunno since you gotta re solder the thing back in place because my cousin tripped over his charger and a new one doesnt help he has to keep holding the plug at a certain place to charge depending on what model you have netbook or laptop i wouldnt replace some things since acer is just for budget i believe and its taiwan company
