How do i get get internet on my acer laptop?
I have a 16"9 acer laptop and i dont know were to go or what to do to get internet because i want wireless internet some body helpme

wifi is built in so just find a signal and go.If not get a router at home.

If the laptop doesn't have integrated wifi, then you'll have to get a wireless card for it.

Over by where the time is, there should be a little arrow pointing to your left. Click on it. Scroll over to where it'll say Wireless Connections. Click on that. It should say something like view local networks. Click on that. And look for one with full bars and one that has the unlocked signal. Then you should be all set.

A friend is having Acer laptop computer problems?
So one of my friends has an acer laptop, i forget what kind, and she told me that as soon as she plugs it in for charge the Wifi card stops working. Is this a common thing with Acer Laptops? Or is it just another problem? Can you help me out so I can help my friend?

same yes its common... is that seriously the only problem uve had with it??? wow ur lucky! mine is now a desktop lol, the battery broke, the trackpad and motherboard went, lol every time u have a problem bring it in for warranty... until u have enough money for a mac. so i switched to mac! once u go mac ull never go back!

This problem cannot be diagnosed remotely, a certified technician should take a look at it.

Acer are rubbish You get a working one and its great but if it breaks they can be a nightmare What model has she got i would recommend reloading all the drivers http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/downloads.html go to here find her model then download the drivers for her model and operating system if this still doesn't work then take it to a computer shop for diagnostics i would imagine that the motherboards power controller is overloading the wifi card and stopping it from working

Check the power options. On my Acer Aspire 5720Z if I unplug it from the mains it will reduce any un-necessary power consumption i.e. dimmed screen, HD's spin down, and the WiFi is shut off. This doesn't happen when I plug it in though.

yeah take it to someone who will fix that that happened to my teachers computer and it was fixed in no time!

The wi-fi card shouldn't stop working just because she plugs in the charger. This has never happened to me on my laptop, so I am going to guess that she has maybe a loose connection somewhere that shows itself when she plugs in the charger. Maybe her wi-fi card isn't plugged in solidly or something is loose inside the laptop so that when she plugs in the charger, the movement around the charger socket causes something to open up inside. These are just speculations since I'm not there in front of the laptop to see for myself what's going on.

There is a hardware problem in your friend's computer. The best action to undertake is to take the shop to an Acer warranty or support center. There may be other causes that the center can point out.

I agree with Dan S - I dislike laptops they are fragile and the cost of repairs out weighs the money you spend to buy them. However, being a student or in some professions laptops are needed and I also was lucky enough to get a Mac book laptop for my birthday -Apple is just better when it comes to laptops - and I am a serious PC person. Apple is also better for people who have no computer knowledge and the life of their computer are longer. I also must say that the Apple support staff and tech people are educated and you do not get someone from India (nice people) trying to assist you. I never had any problems with my Acer, which is one of the better laptop - but I sold it when I got my Mac book. Hopefully you have it under warranty - best not to try to fix it yourself just send it in and if possible sell it and get a Mac book!

With the memory stick plugged in, locate your files you are transferring by opening Explorer and going to the physical folder. Select your files or an entire folder, then right click and "send to" and "Removable Drive". Note that memory sticks only store up to as much as you purchased. The highest is around 20GB, but external hard drives stores up to 1TB like an internal drive.

If you mean a usb flash drive what you do is plug it into one of your computer's usb ports then you would go to my computer and double click the usb flash drive out of the list and drag whatever files you want to put onto it into that area and it will write them to the flash drive.

My Acer Laptop keeps saying it is unable to start up?
Whenever I try to go on my Acer laptop on Windows Vista it comes up with your computer is unable to start, it stays on the loading bar screen for about 20-30 minutes before it comes up with anything, I got it work once but the usb and mouse didn't work. No matter what option i pick start up repair or start windows normally it is still stuck on the loading screen. Can anyone help me?

I recently pulled a hard drive from an acer laptop that did the same thing, i put it in my desktop and it still happened. backed up my files and reinstalled windows completely and it worked fine. it's the only solution i could come too

OMG. The same thing happened to me. and it happened on my HP too. It's not really something you can fix with out a TON of tinkering and a lot of patience. I actually got so frustrated while trying to fix the keys, that I ripped one of because I got pissed off. Don't do that. It just starts a chain reaction.

Throw it in the trash, and then buy an Apple macbook.

you dont have to throw it in the trash, you have to buy a new laptop key or new retainer clip, check out www.replacementlaptopkeys.com they will have what you need in stock, good service, i have personally used them many times. good luck.
