My display light on my Acer laptop has been shutting it slef off and my laptop is still on why is this?
My Acer Laptop has been shutting it self of but my laptop is still on and I have no idea why..I've check it for virus and every thing..and no virus has been found.

because your lcd don't work no more.. you might have to go see someone who knows how to repair computers... that might cost you around $70 to $150 just to get a lcd and put on.... that happened to my acer laptop too.this sit will give you lcd screens with warranty.

How to remove the CMOS Battery out of an Acer laptop?
It's a Acer Black 15.6" AS5733Z-4851 Laptop PC with Intel Pentium Dual Core P6100 Processor and Windows 7 Home Premium anyways i'm trying to remove the CMOS Battery in order to reset all the passwords in the computer.

Look in the user manual for more details bout laptop. Also I recommend that you open the system only if you have done it before or get a tech guy to fix the problem. It can get really nasty if you accidentally damage or pull anything inside the laptop.

How can I uncrash my Windows XP acer laptop?
How can I uncrash my Windows XP acer laptop? It turns on, but start up halts at the 'acer' screen -- if I try to press F2, it says 'please wait' but nothing happens; it just freezes! If I press esc, I get to a black screen with text, but pressing F2 at that point freezes it too, and any other keys just make it bleep at me. Sigh...

Well you'll need to find out why first. I would try a new HD to start with.

Sounds like you got massive registry problems. You may need to insert windows disc and restart computer. When prompted, repair your operating system. It should get you back up and running. You may wanna invest in spayware/malware removal software as well as registry scanner/repairer.

Hi, Go to BIOS using key like either f2 or f8or f10 or f11 whichever is for BIOS in acer and do a test on your hard drive. If it passes it means your hard drive is working excellent.( NOTE: It is not necessary that u shall have option for Hard Drive Test in ACER ). If u dont get option in BIOS then Just reinstall opreating system using a recovery CD or using Windows XP CD or any operating system u want. I Hope it works for u. Bye

Can a dell charger work on an acer laptop?
Ok well i had just gotten a brand new dell laptop yesterday and my brother decided to see if my charger worked for his. It did. But i am scared that something might mess up if i let him charge his acer laptop with my dell charger. Is this okay to do?

if the connector fits and the charger gives out the right amount of volts then it should. but if it gives too much then you will break the laptop.

Your right to be careful. If you check the voltage, output current and pin configuration of both power packs and they are identical, you should be fine. A brand new laptop? Wow, good on you. You'll want to get a new brother if he blows your power supply. Honestly, the best solution would be to help your brother to buy a powerpack for his Acer. I just found this link on ebay. ATB

How do I restore my Acer laptop to factory settings without administrator rights?
I've been away for quite some time doing some recording work and I've completely forgotten my password to my account. I purchased one of those Acer Aspire mini laptops and shortly thereafter moved to Florida for two months leaving it behind. I have not a clue what my password is and I want to restore it to factory settings. Only problem is that it says I need adminstrator rights when I get on the guest side. Anyone know what I can do?

Why does my acer laptop keep putting the time back 3 hours?
Nearly every day now my laptops time goes back 3 hours, even though I repeatedly put it back to the correct time! For example just now the time was 5:10 even though it was 8:10! It's not just this laptop because my previous acer laptop used to do it. Help?! But its barely 6 months old..surely that problem should be in old computers?

This usually happens when the cmos battery on your motherboard is dying. It looks like a watch battery on your motherboard and holds the bios settings and things like date and time when the pc is off. Very easy to fix and very cheap. If you are worried to open the PC yourself, just take it to a pc repair place. They will do it in a minute and it won't cost you an arm and a leg.

simple,right click your date/time on task bar, and check your time zone.
