How do I restore my Acer laptop to factory settings without administrator rights?
I've been away for quite some time doing some recording work and I've completely forgotten my password to my account. I purchased one of those Acer Aspire mini laptops and shortly thereafter moved to Florida for two months leaving it behind. I have not a clue what my password is and I want to restore it to factory settings. Only problem is that it says I need adminstrator rights when I get on the guest side. Anyone know what I can do?

help my external speaker headphone jack is not working. and the internal speakers are terrible any suggestions? windows vista basic operating system with a realtec audio card

your best bet would be to get new speakers if you dont want to do that then get a new sound card. NEO

Why does my acer laptop keep putting the time back 3 hours?
Nearly every day now my laptops time goes back 3 hours, even though I repeatedly put it back to the correct time! For example just now the time was 5:10 even though it was 8:10! It's not just this laptop because my previous acer laptop used to do it. Help?! But its barely 6 months old..surely that problem should be in old computers?

This usually happens when the cmos battery on your motherboard is dying. It looks like a watch battery on your motherboard and holds the bios settings and things like date and time when the pc is off. Very easy to fix and very cheap. If you are worried to open the PC yourself, just take it to a pc repair place. They will do it in a minute and it won't cost you an arm and a leg.

simple,right click your date/time on task bar, and check your time zone.

Sure shouldn't be an issue. How much RAM will determine the speed though. Too little and yes it'll work but it will suck

How can I watch a dvd/ dvd file on an Acer laptop?
My grandma got me an Acer laptop/ net book and it doesn't have a disk drive. I really want to watch it but there are no websites that have dvd premieres. I want the disk drive so i can save it to my SD card. If you know what to do, please put the link of the website (if you have one) or just write what to do.

Why does my Acer laptop screen have fuzzy red bars randomly doing across the screen?
One day my image on my Acer laptop screen picture was distorted with red. You can actually see the whole picture, it is just red in some areas insted of its true color. I noticed that sometimes its all over the screen and other times it wont happen at all. Its just really annoying when your looking at pictures becasue you cant see them well. Does anyone know why this is happening? Did I mess up my computer somehow? I guess I have to replace the screen now. Thanks

Its the LCD screen defect, not software or VGA problem. You may contact your laptop tech service and have it replaced.
