My Acer Laptop will not give me an option to uninstall McAfee

My Acer Laptop will not give me an option to uninstall McAfee! What do I do?
I want a different Antivirus program, but I cannot find an option to uninstall the McAfee that my Acer Laptop came with. How do I get rid of McAfee so I can get another antivirus program without having conflict problems? It literally gives NO option to uninstall, why is that?

Did you go to all programs and then right click it? If you did that there should be a option that says uninstall. If you didn't, try that. It worked for me

If you can't uninstall it using Add/Remove Programs, you may do it through this link http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS100507 I have also used the free version of Revo uninstaller very successfully. To download it safely use this link http://download.cnet.com/Revo-Uninstaller/3000-2096_4-10687648.html Personally I don't understand why people pay for such lousy anti-virus protection for their home computers. I have successfully used Avast! anti-virus for years and have nary a problem.

Hi, I have a acer laptop 7730 series and would like to reset it to its factory settings. The thing is that I have two drives, Acer (C:) and Data (D:). I do not want the data (D:) drive erased and last time I wiped my laptop it didnt erase but Ive forgotten how I did it so could anyone please explain?

Can I change the battery in my acer aspire one laptop?
I just got an acer laptop for christmas, and since i had been telling my parents that i wanted one with a 6-cell battery, i assumed that was what they bought me. i already personalized my laptop and put a lot of music in it and stuff. now i realized it's a 3-cell battery. if i buy a separate 6-cell battery, can i put it in the place of the 3-cell, or will it not fit?

go to acer site with model number and see, they surport and forums, or a call to a local tech. but they are costly, and likely you'll get three hours or more from battery you have.

The best resource is to go to Acer's web site and see if they sell the 6-cell battery as an accessory for your system. If they do, then the battery will work in your system with no problems.

I'm not quite sure, but when you go to buy it, bring your laptop. :)

It's hard to know.Write down your laptop model number,and call the acer support.Or go to acer website and see whether they sell the 6 cell batteries for your laptop.If you can't find more information,maybe you have to continue to use 3 cell battery.

these internal speakers might be damaged. you can verify if its a h/w problem and not any software or settings problem. just boot your system with any live cd/dvd for example Ubuntu and play any audio/vedio cd. and please remember not to try any mp3 as that might not be supported on default installation of live cd.

I would recommend trying to update your sound driver. Right click on My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager (on Windows XP). Find your sound card under the list > double click it > click driver > Update Driver. This will see if Microsoft has an update for the driver. If it does, it will be automatically installed. If not, I recommend going to the support website for your laptop and seeing if you can download the most recent driver for your sound card. If you manage to find and install a driver, be sure to restart your computer to make sure it takes effect. If none of this works, it may be possible that the speakers on your laptop are shot. It really wouldn't be worth it to replace the speakers on your laptop... you would be better off to purchase some computer speakers on Tiger Direct or Best Buy, at least so you can listen to your media without using headphones. f8 after restart then highlight repair your computer then press enter. then pick an option.

Hi. Acers keep a factory OS copy in a hidden partition (PQservice) by default . Turn computer on. When the Acer splash is on screen hold Alt and keep pressing F10. You have just started erecovery management. You will need a password , if you have ran erecovery before you would have been asked to create a password. If you have never ran erecovery before the default is "000000" (six zeros). Select factory from top of list. Or You can run erecovery management from the Acer folder in start menu all programs list or from Acers tool bar if you have one. Run erecovery management . First time of running you will be asked to create a password. Then just click the restore tab at the bottom . Then select factory from top of list on next page. PS Both methods will work although the Alt and F10 combo is normally saved for when the computer will not boot.

How do you open an Acer laptop's screen?
I want to try to fix the connection on my Acer 3500 laptop. The warranty is most likely expired by now. The screen is motion sensitive and position sensitive to the quality it displays. If it is at the right conditions the picture is nice, otherwise it gets "blurry" and get bands of color on it. I want to check the connections to see if any are bad to fix it. Thanks for any suggestions and if you know how to open it. =)

Okay I cant tell you how hard a darn Nintendo DS is to open and change the outside, but I would like to say don't mess with the connections its a laptop when the make it they actually jam the wires inside the machine, do you really want to deal with that PAY SOMEONE TO DEAL with that its not worth have a heart attack if you did something wrong.

Did you have software installed to use the WebCam? You need software to run the WebCam. Look in your program folder to locate webcam software.
