Wireless acer laptop does not seem to want to work

My wireless acer laptop does not seem to want to work with my wireless internet?
I have just recently bought a ACER laptop and a bigpond wireless router. The laptop recognizes that the wireless signal is there it just does not want to connect with it, it keeps coiming up with troubleshoot this and troubleshoot that??? Please help Windows 7

What version of windows are you using...

Make sure your Windows 7 is updated with latest patch and correct wireless adapter driver is installed. Wireless settings on wireless adapter must match the one on wireless router in order to connect successfully. What is the default password needed for Acer laptop recovery?
I have a problem with Win Vista on my Acer laptop. (model 431020) and I need to do recovery on my system to factory condition. it needs a password that I haven't set. how can I find this just default password?

Where is the wireless switch on my acer laptop? How do I enable wireless?
I have an acer laptop. When I want to connect to the internet it says to turn on wireless capability using the wireless switch. When I hit it, it kept sayong wireless unenabled or something.

It's one of the long, thin buttons on the very front of the laptop. It's easy to accidentally turn it on/off with your belt buckle. The screen should flash "Wireless Enabled" in big green letters when you hit it.

The wireless switch is generally on the front edge or a side edge of your notebook. They also usually have an led that will show status. You may have to enable this through bios if the switch doesn't work. http://infiniteadmin.com

on my acer it is up near the power button the first one on the left

it on the side of your notebook.

if you can't find the switch then go to start>connect to> show all connections. after that you will see wireless network connection, right click on it and enable it. its the same thing either to do it using switch or myway.

How expensive is it to replace an Acer laptop screen?
It's an Acer Extensa 5230E My brother was sitting in his bunk bed and his laptop was in front of him. The screen part (the back side) hit the rail and now when he turns it on a weird thing comes up like the screen is broken. How expensive is it to fix this? He is really upset and my mom is very angry.

A quick check on eBay shows replacement screens going for anywhere between $77-$150. If you pay a shop to put in the new screen all you would have to pay is labor, seeing as you brought in the replacement part. Most shops I have dealt with charge anywhere between $55-$150/hr for labor. Changing out a screen is a relatively simply job, so I would guesstimate maybe 1 hour tops for the job. In all, you're looking at about a $250 fix if you use a shop. Replacing laptop screens isn't that hard. There are tons of good videos on YouTube that will show you how to do it step by step. If you follow one of those and do the work yourself, replacing the screen will be a cost effective repair.

Go to My Computer -> Right Click -> Properties ?

1st off laptop & notebook are the same thing. Some call it laptop some call it notebook. Just go to Control Panel & you could adjust whatever you need to from there. Oh & in future its more about the name of the operating system not the laptop you are running.

you can know your laptop specs, by the way, signed to acer website. http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/group/notebooks Do not forget, you need to know your laptop series (eg: Aspire AS7741-7870, etc). To know the series laptop, you can read description, in the bottom laptop.

How do I connect my new Acer laptop to the internet?
I just bought a new acer laptop for college and I know nothing about connecting it to the internet. How do I do so? All the networks need a passowrd. How can I access my home internet - Bright House Road Runner (Michigan)?. Please help! Thank you!

If using a wireless connection - you'll need to obtain the security code (i.e. WEP key or WPA key) from the network owner before you can connect to the wireless network. If you are using a wired connection, you'll need to plug a network cable into the cable modem or DSL modem from your internet provider at home, and then plug the other end into your laptop.

How to reinstall windows 7 to a acer laptop?
My acer laptop hasnt been working lately. It won't get past the booting screen. When it goes into startup repair it says itll take an hour but its been 4 days now so my only option is reinstalling windows 7. But the laptop doesnt have a cd drive and i dont have the windows 7 cd. Any solution?

Your laptop should have either a restore disk or a restore partition. The user's manual will have instructions on how to restore your laptop to factory default but it'll wipe out anything that is on the hard drive. If you don't have the manual you can get it from the manufacturer's web site. Just search their support section with your model number.
2 :
Entry into the recovery routine on an acer is at early load time i.e during the acer logo display is to hold down the ALT key while repeatedly depressing the F10 key. If you do not have a hardware problem this should format and load your operating system.
