How do I find a powercord for my Acer laptop?
I have an Acer laptop and the power cord got ruined. I need to buy a new one on ebay and am not a computer expert so I don't know how to search for it on ebay. How do I know the power cord I buy will work for my Acer laptop?

We would need to know which Acer you have?

Type in the laptop model and then type in power adaptor after it if that doesn't work then look on the Acer site.

Type in "Acer (what model you have with no parenthesis) charger" without the quotes. Look on your old charger for a part number and a wattage. Make sure you get the correct one, or you could risk ruining your battery or even the laptop.

Ok all you have to do is type in your computer's model followed by power cord. I suggest Acer___ Power cord in the search engine. This will help you out.

question about an acer laptop that has the manufacturer listed as a dell?
I have an Acer Aspire 5335-2257 laptop and the windows messed up on it so someone reinstalled the windows but used a dell reinstallation cd and at the time I didnt know that they used a dell version. Now my certain things wont work on my laptop such as my webcam and so forth. Any suggestions on what to do?

Do you have the original software backed up somewhere? The best way to fix this is to install the original operating system that you had because that had all of the specific components of your laptop included. Otherwise you will have to go to your device manager (can't tell you how to get there without the OS) and find your webcam and download the drivers to install it again from acer (if they even have them somewhere to download). If you purchased your laptop and had a valid copy of an operating system I would contact acer and try and have them help you get the original operating system back.

Your stuff doesnt work because that OS disc only had DeLL drivers. You need to go to Acer and get the drivers for your model. Install them, ALL of them, and you'll be fine. Then get rid of that thing...Acer are the absolute worst.

How do I restore my Acer laptop to factory defaults with the disks?
I have 3 disks. Disks 1 and 2 of the "Recovery Disks" and 1 disk of the "System Discs". How do I restore my laptop to factory defaults? Alt+F10 on the acer logo at the beginning didn't work. I have restored it before with these disks but I can't remember how.

Go into the system's BIOS by pressing the DEL key (or whatever key the splash screen tells you to press when it boots) Set your DVD drive as the primary boot drive. The user's manual should detail how to do this. Insert the Recovery disk into your computer, save and exit the BIOS, and then wait for the computer to reboot. Press any key when you're prompted to boot from the recovery disk, Acer eRecovery should begin. ~~~~~~~~~ Please note: In the Main section of the BIOS there's also a D2D option which should be set to enabled for the Drive to Drive recovery to work. If it is off, set it to On and then try the ALT+F10 recovery option again. A D2D recovery is faster than recovering from DVD.

How do I video conference on my Acer laptop?
I just noticed that my Acer Aspire 5315-2153 has video conference on it. I looked at this sticker on the lower right part of my keyboard part of my laptop that says "Acer Video Conference*" on it. What steps on my laptop do I have to do?

I also have an Acer and I tried that, it's a business conference that costs money. If you want to have a video conference with a friend and you have an Instant Messenger (IM) service, Meebo.com is free and great. My friends and I use it all of the time. You can video chat there and if you are on youtube.com you can insert the link and you and your friends can watch the videos together. Good luck =]

You may also not actually have video conference. At the bottom of the sticker it may have a start with "specification vary depending on model" and if you have that start next to video conference, you may not have. However like the person said above, you may have to pay for it.

Wal Mart usually excepts return on computers and electronic for 15 days, after that no. Would suggest checking with Wal Mart customer service for the stores full return policy.

I have an acer notebook laptop and we dont have wireless internet but we have another laptop hooked up to a cord for interent. I tried putting that cord in mine (looks like a cord that hooks up to a phone thing) and the internet still didnt work. What am i supposed to do. Thanks in advance!

You have to go to the internet settings and manually connect the laptop to the internet. Then, you may or may not have to type in the security code for your internet. You should be all set after that!
