Acer Aspire 5315-2153

How do I video conference on my Acer laptop?
I just noticed that my Acer Aspire 5315-2153 has video conference on it. I looked at this sticker on the lower right part of my keyboard part of my laptop that says "Acer Video Conference*" on it. What steps on my laptop do I have to do?

I also have an Acer and I tried that, it's a business conference that costs money. If you want to have a video conference with a friend and you have an Instant Messenger (IM) service, Meebo.com is free and great. My friends and I use it all of the time. You can video chat there and if you are on youtube.com you can insert the link and you and your friends can watch the videos together. Good luck =]

You may also not actually have video conference. At the bottom of the sticker it may have a start with "specification vary depending on model" and if you have that start next to video conference, you may not have. However like the person said above, you may have to pay for it.

Can i return an Acer laptop that has been opened and used back to Walmart?
I have a Acer laptop that i purchased on Saturday and i was wondering if i could return it. It has been less than 15 days but however, it has been opened up and used. Any suggestions?

Wal Mart usually excepts return on computers and electronic for 15 days, after that no. Would suggest checking with Wal Mart customer service for the stores full return policy.

Yes you can, I have done so numerous times. They will ask for a reason, but they will give you your money back right then. Take all the packaging back with you.

I need a new charger for my laptop because this one is not even responding to being plugged in so when I looked up acer laptop chargers on ebay there's SO many. If you have XP or Vista, right-click on the My Computer icon or the Computer link in the taskbar. It's somewhere in there.

I have an acer notebook laptop and we dont have wireless internet but we have another laptop hooked up to a cord for interent. I tried putting that cord in mine (looks like a cord that hooks up to a phone thing) and the internet still didnt work. What am i supposed to do. Thanks in advance!

You have to go to the internet settings and manually connect the laptop to the internet. Then, you may or may not have to type in the security code for your internet. You should be all set after that!

How do I reformat an Acer laptop without a recovery disk or recovery partition?
I have an Acer laptop which is running Windows Vista... it some how got a virus. I have tried to do a system restore and it did not work. I've tried running a recovery option from the BIOS screen and all I keep getting is that Windows Start Up Error thing. How do I go about reformatting the Acer without having a recovery partition or the recovery disks?

I have a stupid Acer laptop, and it's been running very slow latley. I removed almost all of the programs that I had downloaded, and it's still being slow. I want to reboot the entire thing and start off brand new. I tried reading the manuel and I don't see anything in it about rebooting the system. How do I do this?

place recovery disk in cd drive >restart follow instructions

if you have a windows cd boot from it. to do this wait till the first boot screen and in the top corner or bottom corner it will have boot menu or boot options with a key next to it. press that key then at the next scree you should have the option to boot from cd. if you dont have the cd you may have a recovery partition on your drive that you can boot from using the same steps use that to reinstall windows

When you first purchased your Acer, it would have asked you to create a restore CD or DVD, using these to reboot your laptop from them will help you re-create your laptop driver as the time when you created the backup. If have not done that, check by pressing F8 or F12 when the laptop is booting to find if the system has a restore built in option. I would however suggest that you run an Anti-Virus Like AVG and an Anti Spyware like Spybot or AntiMalware to help clean your system. Spyware is usually the main reason you get your system to slow down. Hope this helps.

you should check your hard drive, maybe it is starting to fail. If so rebooting won't help. Google for "check hdd smart attributes" to see how healthy your hard drive is. Also when it is running slow open task manager and see, maybe there is one particular program which eats up all CPU/memory. Check you computer for viruses. Yeah, maybe start with it and then do other stuff :) Go to Start -> Run -> cmd, type chkdsk c: /R and let it scan the disk for bad sectors.

How to print wirless from an Acer laptop to a brother intelfax-2480c?
I have a brother intelfax-2480c printer and a Acer Aspire laptop with windows Vista and DSL internet. I would like to be able to use the laptop without plugging in the DSL and printer cable every time. The laptop is the only computer so I can not set the printer up that way. I do not know anything about this wireless stuff. Please help. I do not know what things I need to buy.

Unless u set it up wirelessly u cant. Or if u get USB port installed u cant print straght from a memory stick!

Sounds like you need to set up a print server http://www.dlink.com/products/?model=DPR-1260 so you just connect the print server to the router via ethernet cable and connect your printer to one of the usb ports i've got xp so it may be a little diffrent you go into printers and faxes and click on add printer click next and click on a network printer or a printer attached to another computer click for browse for a printer and hopefully it will come up if it doesnt then look it up on google (also if you have more than 1 computer connected to your router u might want to set the printer up on that if their wirless or else just buy a wirless USB adaptor if your other computers arnt wirless because i know nothing about them i know about it but never had experience with one) sorry this is making it like your spending so much money it just the best way
